Volunteering @ LEOM

Everyone who wishes to volunteer at a Miami-Dade County Public School must register to do so online. If you are registering to volunteer for the first time, follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Log onto www.dadeschools.net and visit the “Parent” section of the site, then log on to the portal using your username and password (this is the preferred way). You can also register through the “Community” portal.
  • Step 2: On the parent portal, fill out the “Be a Volunteer” application, which is listed under the “Services and Sites” tab at the top of the page. Make sure to select your school location – 7033 Law Enforcement Officers HS.
  • Step 3: You do not have to be fingerprinted in order to volunteer at LEOMHS. On your online application please select LEVEL 1 activities. Selecting Level 2 activities will hold up your application, because these activities require fingerprinting. Please see the explanation of the Level 1 and Level 2 activities and choose the one that best applies to you.
  • Step 4: Applications for volunteering are usually approved by the District within one week of applying (Level 2 takes a little longer). Check your status on the parent portal in the “messages” section. Once your application has been approved by the District, bring a copy of a picture I.D. (driver’s license or passport) to Mrs. Perez in the LEOMHS’s attendance office. You will then be placed on LEOMHS’s list of volunteers. (Please note, you will not be approved at the school until a photo ID is brought to the school)

**Please note: If one parent is already registered to volunteer through the “Parent” portal, the second parent must go through the “Community” portal and create a new user account in order to register to volunteer.

If you registered to volunteer online during the previous school year, it will not be necessary to do so again. Simply enter the parent portal (or community portal) and update your existing volunteer profile by selecting “7033 Law Enforcement Officers HS” as your school site and choose your Level 1 activities.
